Regional Catchment Strategy 2013-2019

Scope of the Regional Catchment Strategy

Printer-friendly version

The development of the RCS has been guided by the Catchment and Land Protection Act 1994, and the RCS development guidelines issued by the Victorian Catchment Management Council (VCMC 2011).

Relevant federal and state legislation and a range of policies have been also taken into consideration, the details of which are provided in Appendices one and two. These inputs are considered along with community and agency consultation, expert advice and research. These relationships are outlined in Figure 10.

The RCS outlines the Catchment vision and objectives for the next 20 to 30-years and describes drivers and management measures for natural resources at a Catchment scale over the next six years. The RCS does not describe detailed actions and budgets for on ground activities.
